Electronics devices are an integral part of our lives.  These days, there’s no way to avoid using them as part of our daily lives.  Whether it’s using the computer, mobile phones, or tablets it seems we spend most of our lives on our devices.  This has created an “epidemic” of electronic device-related injuries.  As a medical and rehabilitation office, we see an alarming increase of back and neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, hip pain and the list goes on.  There is an increase of illnesses such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tendonitis, rotator cuff inflammation/tears, sciatica, bursitis, to name a few.  All these illnesses can arise from the use/overuse of electronic devices.  In order to “save” and protect our bodies, we need to use them efficiently and correctly.  This entails the use of proper postures and active movements.  This incorporates the science of ergonomics.

ERGONOMICS

What exactly is Ergonomics?

Ergonomics (from the Greek word ergon meaning work, and nomoi meaning natural laws), is the science of refining the design of products to optimize them for human use.

Ergonomics is the science of assessing and designing the workplace with the goals of reducing injury and fatigue, increasing efficiency and therefore, improving mood and productivity.

Through Restore353’s ergonomics program, one will learn exercises and adjustments to one’s body movement that will improve posture, decrease fatigue, and create a more productive and energetic mindset.

Restore353’s ergonomics program includes:

  •  Lecture series focusing on proper sitting position, biomechanical movements, and how to prevent injuries at the computer.  We can arrange for in-office lectures with no charge; please contact us.
  •  Work-station evaluations, complementary.
  • Personalized therapies designed to improve  posture and decrease pains at the workstation.
